Update #26

Dear Friends and Family,

I am much more prompt on this update; I didn't wait so long in between! I last posted in August 2008; we've had a lot transpire since then.

Mom and Dads 50th wedding anniversary celebration in September was a wonderful time. Many friends and family were around to help celebrate, thank you to all of you who made it so special!

In November, Lisa and I were the Chair and Co-Chair of a fabulous event here in Arizona called "Fashion Compassion". It was a Saturday night runway show and VIP party for renowned designer Zang Toi. The event was part of Scottsdale Fashion Week and all proceeds went to the Arizona Spinal Cord and Injury Association. Mom and her friend Sandy Golz were in attendance and everyone had a great time...PLUS we raised monies for the Charity!! We are back at work on our upcoming event this fall. We will keep you in the loop with information, what a wonderful reason to have to come to Arizona!!

All three of us kids visit on a regular basis. We spent Christmas in Iowa, it was awesome! We had a ton of snow and our kids had a great time. They think the ramp off the back of Papa's house was actually a "special made" sledding apparatus for them!

For the most part both mom and Dad remain healthy. Recently, they've both been fighting the winter cold/flu season, not fun, but they are over the hump, I think!!

Last week Dad was hospitalized with an on going pain in his neck and head. Over time, the pain has become intolerable, medical intervention was a must. The doctors determined where they thought the pain was hailing from and started a series of injections. He gets relief for periods of time; however, he is not cured of it by any means. He has had MRI's and they will continue to follow the progress from these injections and determine what will need to be done further. Poor guy just can't get a break!!

So here's the GREAT NEWS…After months of review, it has been determined that the Swimming and Diving Natatorium at the University of Northern Iowa will now be named the "GLEN F. HENRY SWIMMING AND DIVING POOL". We are incredibly proud and my dad is very humbled by this announcement. What a testament to our father for his dedication to the students, athletes and the University itself, it is a much deserved honor! It's so cool for his grandkids…that's their PAPA!!

Taylor Kevin Isaacs, our guru from LA will be out next week along with Lisa. The rest of us will be around a good chunk of the summer; we are looking forward to getting out of this heat. Also, July 20th is Dad's 70th b-day, I'm sure a celebration will be taking place…more details down the road!!

We hope all of you are happy and healthy and enjoying life! We invite you to visit www.GlenHenry.com and send your thoughts. We have made changes to the website, ENJOY!
